Laurie Bird and Carole Bloom started Quilting
B's in 2004. Teaming up, the two women
used at parties, showers, and as school
projects, to enable those who couldn't quilt to
produce a lasting keepsake.
After a successful year of
creating and selling dozens
of quilts via word of mouth,
they decided to give it a go
and opened their own
Internet store. The response
has been overwhelming!
Quilting B's was named small
business of the month by the Los Angeles
Daily News in December, 2005.
Laurie has been quilting since 1999 and
teaching quilting since 2002. Her quilts
have been displayed at various quilt shows
and featured in McCall's Quilting Magazine.
Laurie recently purchased her first long arm
machine which she affectionately named
Libby.
Laurie is married to Steve and the mother of
3 almost grown-up children: Justin and twins,
Amanda and Lindsay. Quilting is her passion!
Carole's first foray into quilting was in 2003
when she created a memory quilt for a
friend's baby shower. Her passion is
designing and embellishing quilts.
Carole and her husband, Jeffrey, are the
parents of three, and grandparents to four
wonderful grandchildren.
